18 weeks

Well, I am 18 weeks this week.  I feel like I am growing everyday.  We had a milestone this week as well.  I finally felt the baby move!  I have thought I felt him here and there but Monday he kicked me really hard.  It came at the perfect time too.  I had had a rough day and as soon as I felt that kick it just changed my emotions immediately.  Thank you Lord for knowing that I needed a good kick.

I go for my ultrasound at the doctor this coming Tuesday so I will have baby pictures to post next week.  But until then, here is my belly picture for the week.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

A Night With Old Friends

This past Saturday, Jarred and I headed to Atlanta to see my two best friends.  Lynn is getting married this coming up January so her family threw her and her fiancĂ© an engagement party.  She met Eric in high school, but they just started dating this past November.  He is perfect for her and I know they we be very happy. Here are a few pictures from the night.

IMG_3132IMG_3138IMG_3136 IMG_3145IMG_3149 IMG_3135I meet these girls in college our freshman year.  We pledged the same sorority and became fast friends.  Although only Christy stayed at Alabama, we all kept in touch and have been friends for almost 10 years now.  Wow, it has been a long time!

Christy left this past Tuesday for Malawi, so if you have a moment please say a prayer for her.  She and a friend of hers went to work with a ministry for the next two weeks.  I pray for God to do His work through her while she is there.

It is always so great to get to see the two of them, especially at the same time.  The party was great and the time together was well spent.  I can not wait to do it again.

17 Weeks

Well I am 17 weeks this week and growing everyday!  I am definitely showing much quicker this time around.  Nothing eventful has really happen this week, just still tired by the time I get home at night.  I am super excited that tomorrow is Friday because I get to go see my two best friends in Atlanta this weekend.  I have not seen either of them in several months and it is well overdue.  Anyway, here is my belly picture for this week.

It’s A-

Nother boy!  That is right, Jarred and I are going to be blessed with another precious boy.  We went yesterday to Virginia College to have a free ultrasound just to see if we could find out what we are having.  They were great, spent almost an hour just looking at everything.  Students do the actual ultrasound and they have to take a gazillion pictures of every part of the body for practice and then the teacher comes in at the end to confirm the sex if they can see it.  I did not mind one bit, it was so much fun to see our baby just hanging out.

I drank a huge Dr. Pepper to get the baby moving around and apparently caffeine does not phase him at all.  The little booger sat on my bladder forever, just curled up in a little ball.  Once the technician started pushing on my belly to make him move he waved at us.  I said he was waving at his momma, but really I think he was telling us to leave him alone!  It took a while to actually see what the sex was because the umbilical cord was between the legs, but once he rolled over we saw!

I am 16 weeks this week and go back to the doctor on August 4th.  I will have my “big ultrasound” that day where they will check all the organs and confirm the sex again.  So, unless we were seeing the umbilical cord (which I am pretty sure that is not what we saw) it is definitely a boy.  I am posting my weekly belly picture and a picture of our little man.

No More Diapers!

So we have finally done it, we are no longer in diapers!  This past weekend we started potty training (which we chose to try to 3-day method) and it worked really well.  Of course we had a few accidents here and there but for the most part Jacob has used the “big boy” potty since Friday.  He will tell us when he has to go and is wearing “big boy” underwear.  I am so proud of him and so surprised at how well he has done.  I know it is not for everyone, but I am glad we tried it this way and got great results.  My entire weekend consisted of this, so I will just leave you with pictures of my big boy!

15 Weeks

I went for my 15 week appointment yesterday and it was very uneventful.  We listened to the heartbeat and the doctor had no problem finding it.  The baby was right under my belly button.  Dr. Benton has a new fetal doppler to listen to the heartbeat, but it does not count the heart rate.  I was disappointed to not know the actual heart rate but Dr. Benton said if she had to guess, she would think it was in the 160’s.  She said it was very fast!  She also made sure to remind me that it has nothing to do with determining the sex of the baby.  I just had to laugh because it is so easy to get caught up in all the old wives tales, but I try not to listen to them too much.

I go back on August 4th for my BIG ultrasound.  Since we are going next Thursday to Virginia College for the free ultrasound we are hoping that the baby will cooperate so we can find out what the little munchkin is.  I will make sure to drink a 20 oz. Dr. Pepper before we go so the baby will be bouncing off the walls!  If for some reason we do not find out or are not 100% sure, we will have to wait a few more weeks to try again at the actual ultrasound at the doctor’s office.

I have been feeling pretty good overall, just really tired at night.  I have not gotten all of my energy back, but it is coming  slowly.  I will say that I have been very blessed to not be sick like I was with Jacob.  I did throw up a few times in the beginning but have not been sick since the end of May.  Thank the Lord!  I guess it is time that I start posting pictures of my growing belly.  I will try to post one every week, but do not hold me to it.

Our 4th of July Weekend

We had a fun filled 4th of July weekend, starting on Friday. We spent most of the day at the pool with my mom. I was so excited that Jacob finally loved the pool, he even wore his "swimmies". My excitement soon changed because Jacob would not keep his mouth closed in the pool. I am such a paranoid person, all I kept thinking was that he was going to end up drowning from dry drowning (please tell me y'all remember the little boy that died from dry drowning, I think it was last year). So, I had to keep threatening him to either close his mouth or we would have to go home. I know I am such a sweet momma. He never really stopped but he did puke up some water a couple of times, so hopefully that helped. That night I was so worried but he was fine and my paranoia got the best of me. I guess I just need to relax a little.

On Saturday we went out to lunch with Jarred's grandmother, aka Poopee. We ate at a really nice restaurant called Sweet Bones, it was so yummy! After lunch we relaxed at Nana and Papa's house until firework time. We drove over to Trussville to see what their fireworks were all about. They were great! Jacob was not scared at all, he was mesmerized. He just sat there and stared. He was so tired by the end of it, I am surprised he did not fall asleep watching them.

Sunday we went to church and a birthday party. The church service was really good. They have been having a lot of guest speakers lately but they have all been very enjoyable. The birthday party was at the park and it had rained so everything was wet, but Jacob had a good time anyway. All he wanted to do was play with the bubbles and eat cake. After the party we went home and laid around the rest of the day. It was a fun filled weekend!
