Catching Up

This past weekend was a pretty busy one.  On top of it being busy, Colyn had a viral infection.  The poor little booger ran a fever from Wednesday to Saturday morning.  I am so glad he is feeling better.

Look at those red cheeks (at least he managed to still smile).

Friday night we hung out at my parent's house and ate dinner.  Saturday we went to Jarred's great-grandmother's house so he could clean out her gutters.  We are so blessed to still have her in our lives.  She tells the best stories and loves on our boys so much. 

After going to Gannie's we stopped by Target to get a birthday present.  That night, Jacob and I went to a friend's birthday party.  It was at iJump.  Jacob of course would not jump in any of the blow ups and was not tall enough to ride the go-carts, which broke his heart, so we played in the arcade instead.

Sunday we took the boys to Bass Pro Shop to get their picture made with the Easter Bunny.  That was an exciting trip.  Colyn proceeded to spit up all over the Easter Bunny (at least his costume is white, right?) and Jacob pitched a fit when we left.  Oh the joys of boys, ha!

If you have a weak stomach then do not look at the next picture!  It is too funny (gross but funny) not to put it on here.   And, since it is my blog about my life and everything in it, here you go.  Do not say I did not warn you!

After the Easter Bunny fiasco, Jarred took the boys home and I went to my oldest, dearest friend's wedding tea.  I am so excited for her.  She is getting married in June and I have the privilege to be one of her bridesmaids.  I must get to working off this baby weight so I can fit in my dress!  Of course, I did not take one single picture.

3 Months Old

Little man you are 3 months old (yesterday).  Where has the time gone? 

• You are still sleeping in your co-sleeper all night long.
• You take 6 oz. of formula every 4 hours.  You love to eat!
• You love to sit up in your Bumbo or our laps so you can look around at everything.
• You smile ALL THE TIME! 
• You are laughing out loud, especially when Mommy sings, "Give me back the filet a fish,"  LOL
• You love to put your hands in your mouth and are grabbing everything you can now.
• You have found your feet but can not figure out how to get them in your mouth yet (which is fine with me, ha).
• You are in size 1 diapers.
• You wear 3-6 months clothes and a few 0-3 still.
• You love to stare at Jacob and watch his every move.  You also love to stare at the TV.
• I am not sure exactly how much you weigh but when I hold you on the scale with me you are about 13 pounds.

Daycare had been an adjustment (for Mommy), but you are doing really good.  You were sick this past week with a viral infection and it broke my heart to see you run a fever and just not feel good.  Brother was never sick this young, so Mommy did not know how to act!  You are much better this week and we are so happy.  We love you so much and enjoy watching you grow everyday.

Does anyone notice a pattern with Jacob's shirt?  He had it on in last month's picture too.

Carnival

Last night, my mom and I took the boys to the little carnival they had set up in Trussville.  Obviously Colyn is a bit too small to do anything, but Jacob had a great time.  I honestly did not think he would ride anything, but he was not scared at all!  He was such a big boy and rode several different rides all by himself.  Here are a few pictures from the fun.

This was his first ride, he was a little nervous. 

It is a little blurry but he was having fun once it started.

I was most proud of him for riding this roller coaster.  It went pretty fast so I did not think he would ride it, but he marched up those steps and sat down.  When it started moving it jerked really hard and I thought he would start crying, but that boy was screaming, "woo hoo!"

Back To Work

I am sorry I have been missing over the past week but it was crazy.  I started back to work last Monday and we passed around a nasty stomach bug.  We are all feeling much better and this week is going much more smoothly. 

Other than starting back to work last week there is not much else going on.  When I took Colyn to the doctor for his 2 month check up, he weighed 12.4 and was 23 1/8 inches long.  He is a big boy!  That is about all I've got right now, so here are some pictures of the boys to brighten your day.

 

Of course I can not ever get them both looking at the same time, ha!

Any Resemblance?

So do you think they look alike?  I think they definitely have certain looks where they are identical.  But here, I am not so sure, ha!

2 Months Old

Colyn, you were two months old yesterday.  I can not believe how fast time is going.  We go to the doctor tomorrow so we will know how much our chunky monkey weighs.  Here is a list of the things you can do now.

• You sleep through the night in your co-sleeper.  You usually go to sleep around 9:30 and wake up around 6.
• You are still drinking 5 oz. of formula every 3-4 hours.
• You learned how to roll over from your belly to your back.  As soon as I put you on your belly you automatically roll over.
• You smile ALL THE TIME!  You are learning to laugh too, it is so cute.
• You are cooing
• You hold your head up great and you tried the bumbo for the first time.
• You love your swing and will sit in it and sleep for hours.
• You have found your hands and grab at things around you, especially my hair!
• You are really starting to pay attention to Jacob and you watch him all the time. 

I am sad that I have to go back to work next week and not be with you every waking moment, but I know you will be in good hands.  I am going to enjoy this week and pray it goes by slow.  We love you so much.  If we could just slow down time a little bit that would be great!  I want you to stay this small forever, so I can hold you and cuddle you.
