Saturday was Jacob's birthday party at our neighborhood pool. He was ready to party bright and early at 6 A.M. I had to remind him every few minutes that it was that afternoon, not right that second. I love how children have no concept of time.
The party went great. Jacob chose to have a Cars party. He loves Lightening McQueen! Everyone swam and ate enough sugar to last a while. He got a lot of great gifts and had so much fun. We are so thankful for the friends and family we have that made his day special. I believe we will have a pool party for the next few years.
I hope you had a Happy Birthday Buddy!
Three years ago today our lives were forever changed. God blessed us with a precious baby boy. We did not know how to take care of a little baby, we were so scared, but everything managed to just fall into place like magic.
I remember the day I found out I was pregnant with you. I could not believe it (neither could your Daddy). We were so excited! Those nine months went by so slow, but once you were born time just started flying. I do not even remember you being such a tiny baby. You are such a big boy now, I just want to freeze time for a little while. You are such a Momma's boy and I love it. I could cuddle with you all day long.
You have blessed our lives more than you will ever know. Jacob, you are such a great big brother to Colyn. He loves you so much and watches your every move. You have such a loving heart and funny personality. You can be VERY dramatic but we would not have it any other way. You make us laugh everyday and you are super smart. You have learned so much at school this year. We can not wait to see what the future has in store.
We love you so much and are so proud of you! Happy 3rd Birthday Son!
Love,
Momma and Daddy
Sunday we took Jacob to get his hair cut because he was in desperate need. The boy hates getting his hair cut so we put it off for as long as we can. Last Thursday when I went to pick the kids up from daycare, Jacob's teachers had put a bobbie pin in his hair to hold it out of his eyes, so I took the hint. He promised to be a big boy and not cry. I am happy to report that he was a big boy (for the most part).
He looks like such a big boy with his haircut. He also got those new shoes this weekend. We bought him flip flops and the Wallabies (knock off version I might add). He refused to wear the flip flops and decided he wanted to look like a little frat boy, ha!
In other news, Colyn tried his second veggie this weekend, squash. He seemed to like it. He is also trying so hard to get on all fours. When he does, buddy he will be gone!
Happy Monday!
*Warning this is a long post, it has been a while.
It has been a minute since I last posted so I figured I would catch everyone up to speed. We have had a busy few weeks around our house. Last week was teacher appreciation week at the boys' daycare so we sent different things to the teachers every day. One of the days the boys were to make handmade cards, so I got creative. Here are the boys cards for their teachers.
The hands are Jacob's and the feet are Colyn's. I thought they turned out pretty cute. I took the idea from the Mother's Day gifts we made for all their grandmothers. My boys are blessed to have two grandmothers, three great-grandmothers and one great-great-grandmother still living. Here are their gifts and the two things I had made for myself.
The elephant on the spoon rest is Jacob's finger prints. I thought everything turned out really cute!
Friday night several of my girlfriends and I went to a wine tasting. There was a live band after the tasting and they were really good. We had a great time. It was nice to hang out, talk and just unwind from all the stress in our everyday lives. I love these girls to death and don't know what I would do without them.
Sunday was Mother's Day and we had Colyn dedicated at church. He did so good. It meant so much to me to be able to have him dedicated on that day because Jacob was also dedicated on Mother's Day two years ago.
After church both mine and Jarred's families came up to cookout. We had a house full but we are so blessed to have such wonderful families. It was such a beautiful day so we got to spend most of it outside.
I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day. This week has not been so hot, Colyn and I are both sick with the crud. He actually has an ear infection and is coughing and I have completely lost my voice. We are slowly getting better. He got to try carrots for the first time yesterday and he really seemed to like them.
Jacob has been a busy little man just being an almost three year old. He can not wait for his birthday and asks me everyday how much longer it will be. I can not believe my baby is about to be three.
Okay, sorry for all the randomness but I really wanted to get all this written just so I can remember it. I hope everyone has a great week!
Colyn I can not believe you are already 4 months old.
This past month has been a fun one watching you grow. You did get a cough and it was so sad to hear but you are all better now. You got your four shots last Thursday. You cried and turned so red but were fine and dandy just as soon as I picked you up. We love you so much!
