Dirt Kid

So Jacob found a new spot in the backyard. I could leave him there for hours! He is officially a dirt kid. Please excuse the fact that I sound so southern (which I am) on the video.

Change Of Plans

So this past weekend we had all intentions of going to Alabama's A-Day game. We (I) had been looking forward to it all week. Plans changed though after a rough week and just the thought of taking a two year old around 150,000 people did not seem as appealing anymore. We opted to head to the zoo instead.

Jacob loves the zoo and we have a membership that expires next month so I wanted to try and get my money's worth out of it so we have been twice in the past month. He loves to see the tiger and lions. But his favorite part is the train. He wants to drive the train not ride it and every time we get off of it he pitches a fit. It was a lovely day so we really enjoyed ourselves.

After we left the zoo we decided to finish our low key day at home. Jarred washed my car while Jacob and I drew with sidewalk chalk and ran trucks down the hill. Jacob eventually found the bubbles in Daddy's car wash bucket and had a field day with that. He was soaked! The weekend ended up being a perfect low key weekend for just the three of us.

The Table That Took Forever!

So back at Christmas time I bought Jacob a table and chairs so he would have some where to color, play, eat, etc. It was an unfinished table and chairs that we had to paint. I had this grand idea to paint it and have my sister draw Big Al on it. Well that was a grand idea unless you know me and my husband and the fact that we tend to procrastinate about everything!

The wood on the table soaked up the paint really bad so Jarred tried several different ways to paint it (spray paint, primer, regular white latex paint). Well, he never finished it so Jacob never got his table for Christmas. It sat for a good two months in the basement until one sunny Sunday I finally decided to get it out and paint it. I had that bad boy finished in two hours! A few weeks later Haley (my sister) came over and started Big Al, but it still did not get finished.

Finally on the Friday before Easter, Haley spent the night with me while Jacob and Jarred were gone and we finished that darn table. It is so cute! Haley did a great job on Big Al and the football. She has such a talent at drawing, I hope she continues to use it!

So I Know I Am Behind

Yet I am still catching up from the past week but I wanted to share pictures of Jacob's first Eater Egg dying experience. My sister and I have a tradition of dying Easter Eggs every year on the Saturday before Easter. We always do it at my parent's house. I figured Jacob was old enough to get in on the action this year. He had a lot of fun, but of course being almost two, he got bored very quickly. He wanted to throw the eggs into the cups, but only managed to crack a few.

Writing on the eggs with the wax crayon.

Putting an egg in the dye.

Now throwing the eggs in the dye.

Helping Mommy get the egg out of the dye.

Then he got bored and went to play with his trucks!

Overall we had a good time. We dyed four dozen eggs, so needless to say we have been eating boiled eggs for the past week! I can not wait to do it again next year.

Awkward Silence

So I have been a little M.I.A for the past few days but it was for good reason. My week has been a little chaotic but I did still want to post pictures from our weekend. Here are a few to recap.

We had a great Easter and I hope you and your families did as well.

Shoe Express

Last week I was in desperate need of some cute shoes for Jacob's Easter outfit. I could not find any that I liked around town. I started searching online but thought it was useless since I needed them for Sunday, until I came across this website. They have a great selection of shoes and they have free overnight shipping on non-clearance items. Well I found Jacob the cutest boat shoes by Keds and they happened to be on sale. I ordered them last Thursday and they were on my door step Friday afternoon.

They are too cute! I can not wait to post pictures of Jacob in his Easter outfit with his new kicks. I hope you all had a great weekend and I will post all about our crazy weekend later.

A Day Out With Thomas

So Saturday we took Jacob to ride Thomas the Train. He was so excited and had been talking about it all week so I could not wait to see his reaction when he actually got to ride. Traffic was horrible on 65, of course, so we did not get there till about 45 minutes before. For some reason they wanted you there an hour before your actual ride so of course I was begining to freak out but once we arrived I chilled out!

After getting our tickets at Will Call we walked around for a while until we were able to board. Jacob was not all that thrilled with everything, he just wanted his Papa to hold him as we walked around, but he eventually warmed up to everything right before we boarded the train.
Our seats were on the enclosed car that has 4 seats facing each other, so Phyllis (Nana) and I were able to sit facing Jarred, Jacob and Joe (Papa). It was the perfect place to take pictures.

Jacob waiting for the train to actually move.

Waving bye-bye to all the people outside.

The train ride was 25 minutes long. We went down the tracks two miles and then backed up two miles. It was fun, but I do not see me taking a train ride any time soon. I get motion sickness, so that was enough for me. Jacob really enjoyed it but was ready to "ge-off" about 15 minutes into it. He did good though!

After the train ride we walked around to see everything else they had. Jacob had his picture made with Thomas, walked through the petting zoo and then played on an acutal train car and tracks.

All in all it was a fun day and Jacob had a great time with "Toma-the-train" (that's his words of course).

And So It Begins

I have thought about starting a blog for a long time but never really knew what to write about. After much thought and several friends bugging me to death to start one I figured, why not. I am not sure how much or what exactly I will write about, but it should be interesting to say the least. Having a toddler should give me plenty of entertainment to share. So without further ado, welcome to my life.
